Boarding Facilities
Available from Grade 8
St Cyprians is located in Oranjezicht. St Cyprians Diocesan School for Girls is a values-driven, family school with a strong sense of identity and an expanded community that includes supportive, engaged parents and strong links with the Anglican Church, and a loyal and involved alumnae body.
Our historic Nooitgedacht campus houses three schools in one, with shared facilities that include a beautiful heritage chapel, the hall and specialist sports facilities. Thus, our girls, aged from 3-18 (Grade 000 to Matric) cross paths and interact daily.
A shared educational vision, devised to shape character, build knowledge, develop skills and prepare our students to face the challenges of a fast changing world is what distinguishes St Cyprians School from the norm. This vision informs our educational approach that supports both the pursuit of excellence and the exploration of possibility.
In order to deliver the vision of a 21st century campus that will support and enhance our unique approach, St Cyprians School is undertaking an extensive Capital Development Project known as the SCS150 Campaign. The completion of the 1st phase is due to coincide with our 150th birthday celebrations in 2021. Re-imagined, re-designed, dynamic learning spaces in the Preparatory School will match the facilities of the High School and the School-in-the-Woods. Improved and enhanced competition-level sporting facilities for the development of both soft and edgy skills will serve the whole school.
St Cyprians School is affiliated to the Independent Examination Board (IEB). The academic programme is structured as the General Education and Training (GET) Phase and the Further Education and Training (FET) Phase. The IEB National Senior Certificate is written at the end of Grade 12.
GRADES 8-9
The GET Phase (Grades 7-9) is generalist and broad in its subject offer. Our proposition at this level includes an integrated, project-based, real life approach that facilitates experiential, independent and collaborative learning in addition to the traditional establishment of foundational knowledge and skills.
GRADES 10-12
The FET Academic Proposition is in line with the national requirements for matriculation. Four compulsory subjects (Home Language, 1st Additional Language, Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy and Life Orientation) and three other subjects chosen from the three line options constitute the offer. The subject choice falls into the following categories: humanities, sciences, business and art, and students can explore a generalist or specialist focus.
In addition, St Cyprians School offers opportunities to students to take up the IEB Advanced Programme subjects: AP Mathematics and AP English but strictly as an 8th subject option.
The FET Academic Offer allows for the study of the 7 subjects required to fulfil the requirements of Matric.
