Welcome to Ratings for Schools. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our Website located at ratingsforschools.co.za (“Website” or “Service”), owned and operated by Blu IQ Media Pty Ltd (“we”, “our”, or “us”).

By accessing or using this Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

1. Who These Terms Apply To

These Terms apply to:

  • Parents or Guardians searching for schools
  • School Representatives or Listing Owners who list or promote their schools
  • Visitors who browse, comment on, or interact with our content
 
2. Services We Provide

Ratings for Schools is an online school directory that helps parents discover, compare, and connect with educational institutions across South Africa. Schools may register and promote their offerings through listings.

 
3. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, software, design, and functionality on the Website remains the intellectual property of Blu IQ Media Pty Ltd.

You may not copy, reuse, distribute, reverse engineer, or exploit any part of the Service without written consent. Any unauthorised use will result in legal action, including cease-and-desist notices.

 
4. User Accounts

When creating an account:

  • You must provide accurate, complete, and current information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • You agree not to share your password with others
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access or suspected breach

5. Listings & User Content

If you create a school listing or post a comment/review:

  • You represent that the information provided is accurate and not misleading
  • You must not post offensive, defamatory, or inappropriate content
  • You retain ownership of your content, but grant us a non-exclusive license to use, display, and share it on our platform
  • We may moderate, edit, or remove content that violates these Terms or South African Law
6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful purposes
  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the platform
  • Post false, misleading, or defamatory information
  • Impersonate another person or organisation
  • Scrape or harvest content or data from the platform

We may investigate and take legal or technical action in response to violations.

7. Paid Services

Listing owners may opt for paid subscriptions or promotional upgrades. PayFast securely processes all payments.

We do not store or access your payment details. You agree to our third-party processor’s terms when making a payment.

Refunds are provided at our discretion and are subject to the nature of the listing and any promotional campaigns activated.

8. External Links

Our platform may link to third-party websites. These are provided for your convenience only.

We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. You access third-party services at your own risk and should read their terms and privacy notices.

9. Termination of Service

We reserve the right to:

  • Terminate or suspend any account without prior notice
  • Remove or restrict access to content or services
  • Block users who abuse the platform, violate these Terms, or act in bad faith

Provisions relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, indemnity, and liability limitations will survive account termination.
