German International School Cape Town Main Campus High School is located in Tamboerskloof. We distinguish ourselves by an open and lively atmosphere. At the DSK you will encounter a European, cosmopolitan culture and the most important language in Europe, German.
We teach German mother-tongue learners from Grades 1 – 12 as well as English-speaking learners from Grades 5 – 12 respectively.

A special characteristic of the DSK is the fact that our learners qualify with one of two double qualifications: They obtain either:

• the National Senior Certificate (NSC, South African qualification) and the German Language Diploma at level B2/C1 or
• the Combined Qualification with the NSC and the German International Abitur.

Our learners are educated by South African and German teachers to become independent and critical thinkers, who are able to take responsibility for themselves and others.

On the assumption of varied talent and performance we place particular emphasis on the appropriate support and on sustainable learning, enabling our learners to develop their academic, social and personal potential to the best of their abilities. Our graduates are socially competent, competitive and are team players.

The DSK is a school of mutual encounter and is open to all strata of the population. Our learners from diverse cultures and backgrounds participate in lessons and other activities to promote intercultural competence. Further opportunities for exchange and encounter is offered through a small boarding school for senior learners.

The DSK is a full-day school with aftercare facilities and a comprehensive range of extramural activities focusing on sectors of music and sport. We have modern facilities, while the teaching and learning methods are diverse and in line with current teaching research.
