Laerskool Montagu Primary School is located in Montagu. At Montagu Primary School, our learners get the opportunity to develop in various areas, e.g. academia, culture, sports and social.

To promote leadership, the Grade 7s are divided into task groups, where they have certain responsibilities to perform. Ten prefects are also elected annually. These learners attend a prefect orientation to prepare them for the year's work.

The school's newspaper, the LM Link, appears quarterly with interesting news events. An editorial board, consisting of gr. 7 learners, is responsible for this.

Entrepreneur days are held every Friday, where each class gets a turn to sell products. During open days, any learner can sell products and thus supplement his / her pocket money.

Spring Day is celebrated every year at the Monties. Tickets are handed out, games are offered, sausages are fried and we drive with the cash carts.

The Land Service regularly offers many interesting activities, such as the Land Service overnight stay in tents and Land Service Camps.

Valentine's Day is celebrated annually with the handing out of tickets and messages. Learners can wear red or white on this day.

The Monties have an annual coin toss where everyone gets the opportunity to make a contribution to a chosen organization. This is how we teach the Monties of caring, charity and gratitude.

Citizenship is also encouraged by e.g. on days when the Springboks or Proteas play, put on green and gold to show our support.

Efforts are made to learn values. Each week there is a specific value / attribute, for which a learner in each class can receive a certificate.

At the end of the year, the Monties attend a church service during which we thank God for His blessing.
