Simonsberg Primary School Pre-School is located in Belmont Park. Simonsberg Primary School is a beautiful school in the heart of Kraaifontein. Although we cherish the traditions of our long history, our learners are provided with an excellent 21st century academic, sporting and cultural programme.
The school is a happy, vibrant and caring place and has a strong sense of purpose. Learning is important! The knowledge and skills learnt in the classroom are linked to the life lessons learnt during sport, music, cultural and community service activities.
Teamwork, dedication, hard work, respect, consideration and compassion for those less fortunate are some of the values we hold dear. Our learners are encouraged to develop thinking, problem solving and research skills and to reach their unique potential. There is something for everyone at Simonsberg and the learners embrace the opportunities provided. They are enthusiastic, energetic, and excited by each new experience.
The staff at Simonsberg are dedicated and committed to excellence. The teachers care deeply about education and the hopes and dreams of every girl entrusted to them. They are very conscious of the need to help the learners mature into well-balanced human beings and also the need to make learning a fun filled experience.
Our teachers are enthusiastic about finding and developing best practice in education. The administration and service staff are continually growing their skills. The combined efforts of the whole staff ensure that Simonsberg enjoys success through Together we can.
At Simonsberg Primary School we pride ourselves in providing Grade Rs with a safe and secure environment, which is an ideal place for joyful and optimum learning to take place. We currently have 4 Grade R classes; 3 English Home Language classes and 1 dual medium class (Afrikaans/English).
Our focus is on the holistic development of all children. This includes the perceptual, physical (gross and fine motor skills), social and emotional development as well as language development.
We follow the National Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) laid down by the Department of Basic Education which includes the intervention programme of R-Maths and Emergent Literacy. We have three main subjects: Home Language, Mathematics and Life Skills.
Our team of highly skilled educators aim to provide your little ones with a variety of learning styles, as we understand that not all children learn in the same way.
