Outeniqua Primary School Pre-School is located in George. Outeniqua Primary School is a school with a rich and proud past. Until 1921, the primary school was included in two high schools, the Girls and Boys' School. With the amalgamation of the high schools, the Lower Girls' School continued as a separate school.
In 1923 Outeniqua High School came into being and when the new premises became involved, the George Boys School also began to function as a separate school. It later became the Manie le Roux Primary School, which amalgamated with the George Girls' School in 1971.
This new school was renamed Outeniqua Primary School in 1974. Afrikaans and English speaking learners from Grades 4 - 7 are accommodated. There are currently 4 Afrikaans and 3 English classes per grade. A learning count of about 850 is maintained constantly. The staff of 45 is composed as follows: 34 educators, 1 art teacher, 4 music teachers, 1 sports officer, 1 learning support educator and 4 secretaries.
