International School of Cape Town Woodland Pre-School is located in Claremont. Established in 1998, the International School of Cape Town (ISCT) is a private, co-educational school offering a respected British-style education to local and foreign students. British education is valued and trusted across the globe. Although international in approach, our UK-based curriculum also makes allowance for local content.
Welcome to Woodland Heights, the original ISCT campus. Home to Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) and High School (Years 7-12/13).
Built in the 1920s, many of Woodland Heights beautiful features can still be seen around the building. Some say it reminds them of Hogwartsminus the moving staircases of course! That said, theres definitely magic in the air
ISCT has called Woodland Heights home since 2002. In 2016, following a significant growth spurt, Key Stage 1 moved to their very own home up the road: Struben House.
The terraced gardens are where youll find children playing during break, as well as the younger students taking part in extracurricular activities. As for the older students, they have access to off-campus facilities in the area for sports practice and matches.
Nursery
Nursery is open to children who are between the ages of 3 years 6 months and 4 years 6 months (in January in the year of admission). Here, we focus on the foundational skills necessary for students to progress to Reception, as well as the importance of play and friendship.
Reception
Reception is open to children between the ages of 4 years 6 months and 5 years 6 months. This is where we introduce more formal literacy and numeracy skills. At the end of Reception, students will be reading and writing!
Key Stage 1
Years 1 & 2
Key Stage 1 comprises our Year 1 and 2 classes. Your child has now left EYFS behind, although some goals may be carried on with them as they move into Year 1. This will be their first year of the National Curriculum.
