Saamtrek Primary is a comprehensive public primary school enrolling 952 TEACHERS grades RR - 7. Primary School is accredited by the Department of Education and Sport Development.
Saamtrek Primary School, is situated in the community of Wilkoppies, Klerksdorp, and serves the educational needs of Klerksdorp, Orkney and Stilfontein as a collective. Located in one of the city's fastest growing areas, the district enjoys a diversified economic base. Currently, the district consists of five secondary schools and seven primary schools. The learners of this school are culturally diverse with a learner population that is 92.44% white,5.99% African black and 1.58% colored.

Here our school probably boasts one of the best Foundation Phase divisions in the Klerksdorp area.
Under the competent leadership of the Head of Department, Me. Blanché White, our learners are thriving and growing. She is assisted by a Grade Guardian in each grade. School readiness here is a priority considering each child's level of emotional development, so that each of our toddlers, at the end of their Gr. R year, can approach Gr.1 with confidence and a sense of security .
Children are required to attend school in the year they turn seven.
To be school ready implies that the stage of development has been reached where his or her social, emotional, physical and perceptual areas of development are ready so that they will exchange the informal learning activities of the Grade R class with confidence, eagerness and willingness. the demands and challenges of formal learning.
Saamtrek Primary School's Grade R classes follow a structured program that is presented in an informal manner. Well-thought-out activities are aimed at skills development in order to promote school readiness. The playground where toddlers climb and climb, balance, swing, socialize and discover is a very important extension of the classroom, without which formal learning will not be successful.
As prescribed by the Kindergarten Policy, no formal learning, reading or writing is done in Grade R.
