Glenwood Junior Primary School is located in Glenwood. Welcome to the world of Glenwood Junior Primary. At our school we endeavor to equip children for life. We address the development of the whole child: physically, academically and socially. Being one of the few Junior Primary specialist schools remaining, the children are given the opportunity to grow and lead within the Junior Primary sphere, giving them a solid foundation of skills and confidence to proceed to the Senior Primary phase.
Our vision is to maintain academic excellence as a Foundation Phase School, specializing in laying a solid foundation in language, mathematics and social skills on which future learning is built.
The school opened its doors in 1914, and is still situated in Alan Paton Road, in beautiful garden surroundings, occupying the original majestic buildings which exude a warmth and charm, conducive to an effective learning environment. The original buildings, which form the core of the school, were officially recognised by the Durban Metro Council, through the presentation of a brass plaque for conservation, which is now proudly displayed at the school entrance.
