Boarding Facilities

Wembley College High School is located in Greytown. Wembley College was born out of the need for an independent school which could cater for the needs of people living and working within the immediate area, but currently also draws students from a lot further away.
The school officially opened Northfields Manor boarding establishment in 2004 and this year, in 2020, an exciting new development - The Senior Primary Boarding establishment. Our highly-esteemed boarding establishment provides a safe haven and positive learning environment for our Senior and Primary scholars.
Brian David Corbishley was an entrepreneur, business-man, educational visionary, creator of employment opportunities for tens of thousands around the world, mentor, friend, family-man who passed away on 7 January 2017. He was passionate about the school which has grown and flourished.
Thanks to Brian and Dot Corbishley, Wembley College is now a thriving Cambridge International, co-educational school for more than 300 children, aged from 2 to 18. Brian has certainly left behind a great legacy.
Form 2 to Form 6 is about self-discovery, growing independence and learning to lead within the school community.
As your child enters High School, it is time for them to take the lead, both in their studies and outside the classroom. Through their IGCSE, AS and A level choices they will start shaping their future. Alongside their academics, they will have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of school life, setting up new community projects, organising events and taking part in fundraising and entrepreneurial projects.
A diverse curriculum, numerous leadership opportunities, nurturing teachers who support and prepare scholars for university admissions combine to ensure that our scholars are prepared for their future.
In the High School, each scholar is given the opportunity to pursue a curriculum which is tailor made for them. The Cambridge international curriculum sets a global standard for education, and is recognised by universities and employers worldwide. Their curriculum is flexible, challenging and inspiring, culturally sensitive yet international in approach. Cambridge students develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning. They also gain the essential skills they need for success at university and in their future careers.
We at Wembley College are proud to be part of this network of approximately 10 000 Cambridge Centres throughout the world and are convinced that this system has proven itself to produce successful, goal-orientated individuals as is evident in the achievements of our past scholars. At Wembley College our pupils achieve three qualifications, namely International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), Advanced Subsidiary Level (AS Level) and A Level.
The IGCSE courses are studied in Forms 2,3 & 4 with the external examinations being written at the end of Form 4 (Grade 10). The AS and A Level courses are studied in Forms 5 & 6 with the external examinations being written at the end of Form 6 (Grade 12).
Academics
Our Academic Results are on par with leading international schools globally . Our scholars continue to set new benchmarks with their performance. Our IGCSE and AS/A Level examination results are consistently ahead of local and global averages and compare favourably with highly-selective independent schools in South Africa and abroad. The academic performance of our scholars allows them access to many top universities like Stellenbosch University, University of Pretoria, University of the Witwatersrand, University of Cape Town as well as top universities all over the world.
Sport plays an important role in the school's mission to support and nurture individual scholars with diverse needs. We believe sport develops a scholar's confidence and character through physical, technical and mental stimulus, and exposure to teamwork and leadership opportunities. At Wembley we believe that a rich education must extend beyond the classroom, and should provide opportunities for scholars to flourish, develop their talents and explore a wide range of interests beyond the Cambridge Assessment curriculum.
Our programme is comprehensive, extending from individual and team sports through to debating, music and drama. At Wembley College, sport is based on participation and enjoyment. When scholars are involved and happy, they are more likely to achieve their potential, whether as an elite performer aspiring to represent their country, or someone simply wanting to play for their school.
