Lyn Harris Primary School Pre-School is located in Germiston. We are a team of outstanding teachers, led by Lyn Harris, providing a secure and enabling environment for our learners.

The school operates as an independent school. It is owned and run by Lyn Harris, who has decades of experience.

It is her vision, as a Reading Specialist, to see the degree of literacy improved by making this a priority. Teachers are given instructions on how to implement a successful reading programme. There has always been an obligation to oversee the progress and education of learners to ensure that they become literate and able to overcome setbacks.

A multi-sensory approach is used to teach the learners. The method used has been perfected over many years and it has proved extremely successful. Learners who have not mastered any of the basics are rescued and put back on track to continue in the main stream. By teaching in a careful and meaningful way, a learner is taught to read competently. Reversals are corrected the moment they occur and not left. Good habits are established from the beginning. Dyslexics are taught to manage their condition and be able to function on a par with their peers.

The school aims to lay a solid foundation in the basic subjects and in so doing ensure that the learners enjoy what they are doing and become excited about education.

A love of Mathematics is also a priority through a clear understanding of the subject.
