4 months - 3 years

We start the young babies on a comprehensive stimulation plan at the age of four months. The curriculum has age appropriate learning from the baby class, building on learnt knowledge through each stage of development.

At all times the parents are kept up to date with their child’s progress with a daily report. We focus on an enriched curriculum, with horizontal enrichment whereby the content is applied to real life situations and vertical enrichment, which implies the in-depth exploration of content in all area.

It is a distinct stage, important both. in its own right. and in preparing children for later schooling. Young children learn best through ‘playing’ and ‘doing’. The ratio is 1 adult to 6 children or 1 adult to 8 children in the 2 -3year old group.

Pre-School

At Loerie Land Primary School we aspire to provide a diverse educational experience, aiming for children to believe in themselves and discover their potential.

We continue the curriculum based on an international standard to achieve the maximum potential of each child within the peer group. At this stage we concentrate on the strengths and weaknesses of the child and adjust the program to encourage growth if there are weaknesses. We concentrate on the play way method using all the senses to build on knowledge acquired. This is a very important stage in the socio – emotional stage of the child’s development and the activities are planned around this.
