Laerskool Unika Pre-School is located in Randburg. In 1960 the school was called Unika Primary School . The name is based on the Latin declension "Unicus" which means unique. The name, Unika Primary School, soon found its way into the unique character of the school. Today we still strive to be unique, excellent and extraordinary.?
In 1963, pupil numbers broke through the 400 border. In the school year, the school song is written by Ignatius Mocke and set by Con Lambrecht, both parents of pupils. By 1964 the sports grounds were ready and the first home sports event, in its own field, was held.?
And what better motto could there be for Unika than WE BUILD! The coat of arms was also symbolized in the same year as follows:
The hands of friendship and help with the rising sun in the background; the brick-by-brick trowel placed on our land, the Republic of South Africa. This is our weapon.
