Alma School Pre-School is located in Pretoria. Alma Schools founding dates back to 1963, when parents of disabled children formed a care group, giving one another a bit of free time to accomplish other things. It is now a departmental school, resorting under the Gauteng Department of Education providing special education for severe intellectually disabled children of all races. At present approximately 360 learners aged between five and eighteen attend the school.
Our vision is ensuring every learner of Alma school does well and leaves our institution with the knowledge, skills and dignity that will give them the best change of reaching their full potential in adult life.
Our mission is to facilitate maximum cognitive and skills development for each individual learner, as prescribed in the D-Caps and SPID curricula, y utilizing well-trained teachers and therapists, enlisting the support of parents and the community and procuring and managing appropriate physical resources in order to send well-prepared adolescents into adult life.
