Senekal Primary School Pre-School is located in Senekal. We are a small school in a small town that offers everything. Here we make an effort with every child - personal contact is very important to us.
At our school we strive to offer only the best to every student in all areas. With very good discipline and small classes we ensure excellent academic results. The safety of our children is important to us and therefore all activities happen on our grounds. The hostel is adjacent to the school and students therefore do not have to leave the grounds.
With positive personnel and with the help of a positive team of parents and the Governing Body we are the best in the Eastern Free State.
Senekal primary School offers each learner the opportunity to develop to the fullest potential in academic, physical and cultural fields, if every opportunity is fully utilised. In today's fast-changing world, parental involvement plays an essential part in the total education of the child. If your child is important to you, you have chosen the right school!
Senekal Pre-Primary School is one of the privileged nursery schools that can offer our parents a Grade R. This year of reception (Grade R) is part of the Department of Basic Education's strategies to boost South African children's school performance. Research shows that children who are exposed to stimulating activities before Grade 1 perform better academically throughout their primary and secondary school years. That is why the Department focuses so heavily on Grade R learning.
This preparatory phase is crucial for Grade 1 as the pace is continuously increased throughout the year to prepare the toddlers for the year ahead. Our activities are designed in accordance with the requirements of outcomes-based education. This provides the student with the opportunity to develop their full potential.
Grade R forms the bridge between the student's preschool experiences and the formula school system. Our teachers utilize learning outcomes and the associated assessment standards to identify student needs and deficiencies. On this basis, they then plan learning opportunities and activities through which the student can achieve these outcomes.
The nursery school is structured as follows:
Toddlers: Toddlers who turn 2 and 3
Youth group: Toddlers who turn 4
Middle group: Toddlers who turn 5
Registered Grade R class: Toddlers who turn 6.
Only a limited number of toddlers per class are allowed to ensure that the high standards that have become synonymous with our nursery school will be maintained.
Every parent can know with confidence that their toddler enjoys personal attention in a relaxed and structured learn while you play atmosphere. The groups day programs are age oriented with ample provision for play and development.
